Journalism is about telling the truth when it is the most difficult thing to do.
I believe that in essence every journalist has the obligation to tell the truth. This is why I wanted to be a journalist in the first place. We as media practitioners have the responsibility towards the citizens to tell them what is actually going on. This forms the basis of my journalistic philosophy. I strive to produce journalism that is accurate and also fair. We live in an age where sensationalism drives a lot of our newspapers. We live in an age where the citizens do not trust journalists anymore. This needs to change. I am also a firm believer in using technology to your advantage. We as journalists have the obligation to adapt to the ever changing technological environment. If we use technology wisely then a whole new world of opportunities will open up for us. I always say that master social media then you will increase your readership.
